What a perfect day for a ride. Today we lay our brother to rest on hallowed ground. As we left for this final ride we had probably 50+ bikes to take Gutter over to Gritney to rest. As President I carried Frank's colors and rode in missing man formation. We met up with Legacy Vets/Viet Nam Vets there and had an awesome ceremony as we spread his ashes in remembrance. Also on hand was one of his favorites drinks, Crown Royal, spilled some spirits for the spirit, and passed the bottle around. Crown on an empty stomach does play havoc on the head some said! Thanks to our National President, Presidents, and other club members for coming to honor one of our own. Also thanks to all the other friends, groups, and riders who particpated. RIP our brother! Godspeed! |

July 4th, 2011. Supposed to be a day to celebrate independence. And i guess if you look at it thru different eyes it could be. We still went on with our plans to have this outing but we added our own little memorial for our fallen brother Frank "Gutter" Smith. We had family and friends, including his son and daughter from Oklahoma there in attendance. It seemed like the thing to do and everyone agreed. One table was dedicated just to Gutter and everyone had a chance to say goodbye. Please pass the peach pie again... |

What a sad day today. I received a phone call today that advised me of one of our club members involved in a motorcycle accident. If you want to see where the accident took place, go visit Rickeystokesnews.com . Look for the date July 2nd. |

Station 36 had their multi-tasking Meet and Greet/Baby Shower. I must apologize for not having more representation there but we did have at least one trooper that made the date! One is better than none! The report came back that it was a good event. We'll be working on a plan soon to hold another venture between clubs and make a day of it! |

Over in Bonifay the Faith Riders were planning a Bike Rodeo/Ride for all local clubs in an effort to promote comraderie between clubs, gather new prospects for different clubs, and just general harmony between different groups. We had the priviledge of doing the Bike Rodeo for them. Other than the heat that day we had a great time. Maybe next year we can talk them into earlier or later time in the year ???? |

Our new Regional Officer made his first trip and first order of business up to the Panhandle today. As the Rally was winding down we raised a chunk of change to help our brother, past R.O. Sherpa, since his accident and all the problems that has ensued. It was nice to see him smiling in the face of all the adversity that has plagued him. FIFL brother! You know we still love you deeply for all that you have done to and for this club! Semper Fi Sherpa! |

It was our pleasure this year to host the 2011 Florida State Region 1 Rally. The weather was perfect! The resort was perfect! The water was perfect! The beer trucks were timely! It just all seemed just so surreal. We had 10 states, 26 stations, and over 160 Fire and Iron members on hand! Only bad event that happened was nothing on our part! PCB PD helped with that one when they high speed chased one into 5 parked cars and no bike injuries at 4am. We'd like to thank all our particpants from the Nation of Stations for making this event a sucess. We'd also like to thank all the local participation and a special thanks to PCB FD and their contribution to our Meet and Greet at Spinnaker's! There were some tears shed for the flag display! Awesome job guys! |

Had some wonderful particpants this year for the Firefighter Survivor Foundation in concert with the Red Knights! over 160 entrants this year which makes this the largest we've had to date! More fighfighters than ever joined in this ride which even included Fire and Iron members from Bahamas. Glad to have you guys around! Thanks for dropping in and to all the other MCs that helped support this worthy cause! |

Thank goodness for Hooters! Where would we all be without Hooters? Speaking with the mgmt there they were all excited to be a part of Fire and Iron and host our First Thunder Beach Bikini Bike Wash! The girls had a great time and and so did all the riders that came thru! A special thanks to Sta's 55 and 36 for coming up and joining in on the fun! |

What a great day and way to start Thunder Beach with the 2nd State to State Run from the Alabama line to Pier Park. Riders from all over came to participate and take the LEO led ride. And as again we had a great ride with great weather. Recurring theme here huh? |

Local Cub Scout Den invited us this year to help coordinate a fundraiser for them for their trip to Daytona and spend the night on the infield. Gee, never got that when i was in Cub Scouts! Thanks to all the parents for helping and to the Pack for feeding the hungry masses! Enjoy your trip kids! |

Being who and what we are, we are always up for new and inviting challenges and opportunities. This was a first for us as well as for the school. We escorted two very nice young ladies to their Prom this year. Thanks to Bullet for keeping them safe! HA HA, you know who you are!! |

Club was able to at least send a few down to P.C. to show support to our 4-wheelin friends. They have been good friends to us and it's always a pleasure to see them when ever, where ever we can...Long Live MOPAR! (Hope my old Ford didn't hear that!) |

Thank your stars for this one guys...at least it wasn't freezing. So what if we all got a little bit wet. Was nice to see our friends again from the Legacy Vets/Vietnam Vets again! Plus, for us this was our remembrance to one lost sister - Nessa. I'm sure she was smiling on us this day. We miss you girl! |
